The wrinkles across 80-year-old Milkah’s face show the hardships of widowhood. Thirty years ago, she lost her husband to a heart attack. At her age, she can’t work to support herself, but she still cares for her mentally
handicapped son and teenage granddaughter. Milkah is part of Kenya’s Maasai tribe, evident by her stretched earlobes, which the Maasai consider beautiful.

This widow’s gentle smile reveals the peace she has found in God and her gratitude for a Support-A-Widow food parcel. “Thank you to God from my heart,” she says. “God has not abandoned me. He uses people to help me. . . . To the people who gave, thank you, and may God give you strength.”

Widows like Milkah are some of the world’s most vulnerable people. To support widows, widowers, and abandoned wives with food parcels, please click Donate to give a gift.
