After Yosef’s* father passed away, his family had no steady income. Friends shared food and money,with the widow and her sons but they still struggled to make ends meet. Then CAM used supporters’ funds to give the family four Shami goats. Because Shami goats are valued for their meat, milk, hair, and leather, they can be sold for a good price in the Middle East. Yosef’s mother sells the Shami kids to local shepherds and uses the goats’ milk to make yogurt and cheese.
