Before the war in Syria, Zaid* had a good job and was able to provide for his family of six. The resulting economic crisis left Zaid in severe poverty. He lost his job. He couldn’t pay the rent anymore, so his landlord had to evict them. With nowhere to go, Zaid moved his family into a tent made from plastic and wood.
“That was just the beginning,” he said. “We had no food, no water. Some days I find small jobs in the city — just enough to buy bread. Other days, we have nothing.”
“You can’t explain hunger to a child,” Zaid continued. “That’s the hardest part—watching your children fall asleep without food. But today, you brought this parcel. You brought milk. My children haven’t had milk in two months. This food—it gives us hope. It means we can make it another day.”
Thank you, supporters, for sharing hope with needy people like Zaid’s family through the gift of a food parcel!
