On a small plot of land near CAM’s base in Managua, Nicaragua, workers are excavating for a new Biblical Discipleship Center. As they dig footers and pour concrete, excitement mounts as another center takes shape. The discipleship center will be similar to the one CAM operates in Haiti for national church leaders.
Nicaragua has been heavily evangelized over the years, but much of the evangelization has lacked something that is dear to the heart of Jesus—discipleship and teaching. Jesus held teaching at a premium. He instructed the disciples to teach all nations: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you (Matthew 28:20).
“Much teaching is needed on the home, marriage, moral purity, honesty, and Christian leadership,” says Louie Yoder, CAM’s Nicaragua country director. “Our vision is to see pastors receive teaching with seriousness, apply it to their lives, and then carry it back to their home churches and families, and teach it by example.”
We plan to offer three-week seminars at the Nicaragua Biblical Discipleship Center, teaching these subjects:
- Biblical Foundations
- New Life and Morality
- Spiritual Warfare
- Family Life
- Bible Doctrine
- Church Leadership
With God’s help, we desire to see churches rise up in Nicaragua that accept the call to holiness and obedience to God’s Word. In turn, these churches can shine the Light of God to the lost and hurting in their country.
