In 2000, Amaya* married Ivaan, a respected pastor and faithful missionary. They lived in a thatched hut in a small village in South Asia. In time, God blessed them with a son and a daughter. Ivaan and Amaya continued their ministry.

Despite many financial problems, Ivaan remained faithful in his service to God and the church and, by the grace of God, 25 families became believers through this work.

In 2008, Ivaan became ill. His health did not improve and one day he started vomiting blood. He immediately went to the hospital for tests and was diagnosed with blood cancer. His wife and children were devastated by the news. For the next six months, Ivaan fought for his life, undergoing extensive treatments. Despite these efforts, Ivaan died in June 2008.

His family and church friends grieved the loss of their father and friend. After Ivaan’s death, life for Amaya and her children became difficult. In South Asia, widows are often shunned by close family and friends, and many are blamed for their husband’s death. Because of this, Amaya knew it would be hard to find a job to support her family. But eventually, she found a job and was able to make a few dollars a day by working in the fields of a local farm.

In 2025, CAM funds helped enable Amaya to build a small house on a plot of land her husband secured for them before he passed away. Thank you, supporters, for your help in ministering to Amaya and other widows around the world.
