A strong personality, bright mind, and eagerness to learn is what Layan’s* teacher first noticed when 12- year-old Layan began attending classes.
While this refugee girl living in Lebanon loves school, her heart came alive most during the Bible classes. With joy, Layan memorized verses and recited them. Whether it’s forgiving a classmate, comforting a friend, or simply choosing to be kind, she lives with a heart full of grace.
Layan’s mother said with deep emotion, “I was forced to leave school and grow up without an education. I don’t want my daughter to go through the same experience.”
Layan is only one of many Syrian children who attend school through Sponsor-A-Refugee Child. We pray that this access to Christian education will point refugees to God.
