After Hurricane Milton made landfall, our Rapid Response team traveled through central Florida to survey the damage. Considering the maxed-out Rapid Response teams and seeing the damage was not as severe as after Hurricane Helene, it was decided not to send Rapid Response clean-up teams.
Hurricane Helene created a chaotic mess of downed trees especially in Florida and through Georgia. Since then, Rapid Response teams cleaned up more than 500 properties. Rapid Response projects were done in Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida but have now been wrapped up.
Work continues in Valdosta, Georgia, where nearly 200 jobs have been completed. Farther north in Waynesboro, Georgia, nearly 200 hundred jobs have been completed there as well, with over 100 still to be done. The need is still great for tree removal and clean-up with many homes and driveways blocked by fallen trees.
Continued plans
Most of the Rapid Response bases are going to be closing in the next several weeks. Considering all the damage, there will probably be a few weeks in December when more tree removal will be done in Waynesboro, Georgia.
We plan to have a Disaster Response Services rebuilding base in Madison, Florida, this upcoming season, with the possibility of another one in central Georgia. Thank you for your support during this busy time of clean-up in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
