When an evangelical pastor and his wife moved in next door to 85-year-old Maria, she noticed how different they were from the rest of the community. One day, the pastor gave her an Antorcha de la Verdad (a Spanish Christian magazine). She read it and was amazed at what she read.
Maria always waited eagerly for the next issue. Every time this pastor came by, she asked for another Antorcha. She testified, “It created a vacuum in my heart for the things of God.” One day, she decided to renounce all that was displeasing to God, as well as her religion of the past. “Three years ago, my life changed because of reading the Antorcha, and I am now baptized as a believer.”
