At the Biblical Discipleship Center in Nicaragua, students’ journeys in discipleship often extend beyond the classroom. Wednesday mornings at the center are times when teachers and students gather for special prayer and testimonies. One Wednesday, the center director shared how he woke up during the night with a feeling of dread and prayed long about it, finally receiving peace. After his testimony, another student stood up and expressed his own struggles. The lessons he was studying were opening his eyes to practices in his church that needed to be removed, he said. Other students spoke up as well, some confessing sins, others sharing victories. This time of sharing united these men, reminding them that the journey of discipleship is not one they need to travel and endure alone.
