Since suffering a stroke, 86-year-old Juan can still walk with some help but can no longer provide food for himself and his wife. They live in a Nicaraguan village called Presilla with their two grown
children.
Though their daughter takes care of her parents, she cannot help earn a living as she has vision problems and other limitations. Silvio, their son, works part time cleaning land with his machete. He usually earns at least $2.75 a day when he can find work.
CAM supporters make it possible for Juan and his family to receive a monthly food parcel through the Adopt-A-Family program. They said, “This parcel is a great help and blessing. It has helped us a lot. It gives us at least 15 days of food. We thank God for those who help us in this way.”
Because of shipping complications, we now pack the food parcels in Nicaragua. If you wish to help provide food parcels in Nicaragua and various other countries, please click Donate to give a gift.
